Nov. 24 - TESDA MisOcc Graduates Trainees under TESDA’s Intervention Program for El Niño Affected Areas in 2016
                 Ninety (90) farmers and members of the irrigation association identified by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and traced through the Local Government of the Municipality of Plaridel graduated from TESDA’s Intervention Program for El Niño Affected Areas in 2016 on November 24, 2016 at the Provincial Training Center - Plaridel.

                 Fifty (90) trainees graduated from Carpentry NC II and 40 finished Masonry NC I.  The training was provided by the TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Training Center - Plaridel.  PTC Administrator, Engr. Lee R. Catane made the presentation of candidates for graduation and Director Miraluna Baje-Lopez, TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Director confirmed the graduates.  All the 90 graduates have undergone the mandatory national assessment for their respective qualification.

                 Graduates happily received their starter toolkits which were distributed during the graduation ceremony.  The TESDA’s Intervention Program for El Niño Affected Areas provide for training capital cost of P6,000 and toolkits of P4,650.

                 The Municipal Mayor, Honorable Diego C. Ty gave an inspiration message and promised the graduates that they will now be part of the pool of workers that the Municipality may hire for local projects.  The graduation ceremony was also attended by Hon. Marilou Yap, Sangunian Bayan Member, who said that the role of the Municipal Council in the conceptualization of the intervention program was the Council’s Resolution declaring Plaridel in a state of calamity due to long drought (El Niño).

                  Ten (10) trainees in Masonry NC I have completed the training but have not undergone the mandatory National Competency Assessment. They will graduate when they have undergone the mandatory National Assessment for Masonry NC I.  These trainees were reported to have already found employment and were unaviable during the National Assessment.  The PTC- Plaridel will schedule a special assessment for the remaining trainees.
