Industry Partners of TESDA Misamis Occidental participate in Partnership Forum
               Industry Partners of TESDA Misamis Occidental participated  in the Partnership Forum last November 17, 2016, at Grand Caprice Restaurant, Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.  The event was a half- day forum that were attended by the various TESDA offices and industry partners from   region IX, X, XI, XII and ARMM.
               The event intends to present TESDA’s areas of partnership, identify potential partner organizations to build pro-active partnership, engage industry in their active participation in promoting TVET, and generate signing and presentation of partnership.
                Industry partners of TESDA Misamis Occidental who attended the event included Ms. Perla K. Garcia of Grancia Trading, Yummy Breadhouse, Delecta Restaurant at SM CDO and Backyard Grill; Mr. Marte Emperio of Misamis Occidental Technical Training Institutons Association; Ms. Grace Badiang of Association of Senior Citizen- Oroquieta City; Ms. Leomers M. Nuevo and staff from  FVJ Overseas Placement Incorporated; Mr. Mark Anthony D. Artigas of PESO- Oroquieta City; a representative of Eastwest Placement Agency, Mr. Marites Tapitan of LSU- Ozamiz City; and Josep Tagurao of Deor and Dune Academy; Furthermore, Program Director of Tingog Misamisnon Channel was not able to attend the event but signed  the Commitment to Partnership in the area of Advocacy and Promotion.
               The speakers during the event were TESDA X RD Edgar A. Sales who delivered the TVET Reform and Development Agenda/ Two- pronged TVET Strategy for Poverty Reduction (2016- 2022). Guest speaker Ms. Ma. Bernadette O. Refuerzo, Chief TESD Specialist on Partnership and Networking Division from the central office, presented the areas of partnership to the industry partners and explained to them the different packages that the industry partners could choose. The last presentation was given by Ms. Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, OIC- ROD, that were about the Region X Labor Information System and Region X Online Skills Survey. Furthermore, speakers from  the private industries were also given the time to talk about their experiences with the TESDA graduates and their plans in the respective areas of enterprise.
               A question and answer portion was opened by OIC PD Nazario D. Villamor, Jr. of TESDA Lanao del Norte, in which the participants happily participated and joyfully commended region X for the event.  It was also an opportunity grabbed by Prof. Miguel of MSU- IIT to present the English Syllabus that they made in partnership with TESDA Lanao del Norte. She also announced that the book has no copyright and can be used by all.
               The event ended with the signing of commitment to partnership by the various industriy partners all over Mindanao. The commitment to partnership was part of the strategy of TESDA promoting (1) promoting TVET for Global Competitiveness and (2) TVET for Social Equity. The industry partners could chose from the areas of partnership that includes: Package A- Community- based Training Program; B- Employment Facilitation/ Jobs Bridging; C- Career Guidance; D- Advocacy and Promotion; E- Programs for Basic Sectors; F- Recognition of Partners and Tech- Voc Graduates; G- Enterprise- based Training; H- Assessment and Certification; I- Scholarship/ Training Subsidy/ Co- management Arrangements for Skills Training; J- TVET Planning and Research; K- Curriculum and Training Materials Development; L- Trainer’s Development; M- Promotion of Green Technology; N- Technology Research.
